CIPSA Launches New Pathway Towards MCIPS29 Jan 2009The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Australia (CIPSA) has announced the introduction of a new, experienced-based assessment route to CIPSA full membership, MCIPS. Known as the Professional Assessment Scheme (PAS), this route will provide experienced procurement practitioners with an opportunity to gain formal professional recognition through the work they undertake in purchasing and supply management. There are no formal examinations; instead assessment is based on practical procurement experience and some theoretical knowledge and understanding. According to Jonathan Dutton, Managing Director, CIPS Australia, ”All routes to MCIPS are equally robust, however PAS is designed to enable middle and senior managers to link their day to day practitioner activities and experience to current and emerging theory”. Other routes to achieving MCIPS include completion of the CIPS Professional Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, completion of a CIPS accredited degree, the CIPS Corporate Award, or the CIPS Personal Development Plan route. |
