ABC comes under fire after claims of outsourcing

The ABC must conduct an independent inquiry into outsourcing of production, said one of the broadcaster's most prominent journalists in response to the axing yesterday of internally produced arts programming and production units in Adelaide and Perth.
ABC executives blamed financial pressures for the cuts, which included the cancelling of Melbourne-based Art Nation. Fifteen people in the arts division were offered redundancies and all internally produced arts documentaries that aired under the Artscape banner will be outsourced.
