ACF call for a 'rebalance' in transport spending

The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) has called for a rebalance of federal and state government transport budgets, after revealing a “pattern of significant underspending on public transport infrastructure”.

Transport spending figures from the AFC showed governments have spent 4.3 times more on public roadway construction than on public railway construction.

The AFC commented that Public transport suffers a lack of planning and budgetary priority.
