CIPSA launches Accredited Recruitment Provider Programme30 Jan 2012CIPS Australasia has officially launched the Accredited Recruitment Programme (ARP) in what is believed to be a ‘world-first’ accreditation programme for recruitment providers in the sector. “When CIPSA first started discussing this programme, we could not find one other example – in the world – where a professional body had endorsed recruitment firms in this manner; it was a unique proposition and we are very proud to be leading the world in this regard,” CIPSA Managing Director, Jonathan Dutton FCIPS said. “Procurement is the fastest growing profession in business and we have seen a corresponding rise in the number of recruitment providers in the sector. Through the ARP programme hiring managers, qualified professionals and candidates can readily identify a recruiter whose ‘bona fides’ have been assessed as of a certain standard by the profession’s peak body,” Dutton said. The following companies are the inaugural ARPs: “The programme also sees CIPSA supporting recruitment firms that have shown commitment to the procurement and supply profession, are interested in its issues and opportunities, and that will promote to the wide audience the benefits to be gained from membership with a professional body. “There is a clear and present skills shortage in the sector and by supporting the recruiters who control the gateway to the profession – including the promotion of the profession to new graduates, to Gen Y, and to people seeking to change career – we are taking a very proactive step in addressing the issue,” he said.
