CIPS Auckland 'Media Invasion' event provides insight...

The first Auckland event for 2009 was held on Tuesday 31 March at the Air New Zealand Auditorium, with 49 people attending. Scott Brownlee from the Fonterra Cooperative Group took to the stage to talk about the challenges of being in the media spotlight.

Fonterra has had its fair share of publicity over the past 12 months and Scott shared some very interesting insights into the considerations that needed to be addressed through his team.

Managing supplier expectations, confidentiality and business continuity planning from a PR perspective can be very difficult whilst trying to limit damage to brand and reputation.

CIPS New Zealand Regional Chair, David Freeman declared, "the need for pro-active contingency plans and clear communication were the key insights from the evening".  

The next CIPS Auckland Regional event will be a CPO Panel Discussion and is scheduled for 12th May.
