BAE Systems to contribute to procurement programme of JSF

BAE Systems Australia will take part in the procurement programme of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), establishing an aerospace component manufacturing operation in Adelaide where it will produce parts for the new jet.

The SA government will provide support for the new manufacturing operations, with the work to be conducted by BAE Systems to be worth about $177 million.

"These new capabilities open up a raft of opportunities in other aerospace, commercial and defence projects," South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill said.
