BHP CPO becomes CIO

Chris Crozier has been appointed Chief Information Officer of BHP Billiton, announced Alex Vanselow, Group Executive & Chief Financial Officer, BHP.

Prior to joining BHP Billiton in 2006, Chris held a variety of roles including Managing Partner (Asia) for the software and consulting services firm, Ariba. He has over 20 years experience in the resources sector, having consulted to all major mining houses and worked directly for Rio Tinto in their marketing division for 10 years. Chris' most recent role within BHP Billiton was as Global Supply Director where he successfully lead the strategic review and restructure of the Function. Chris' appointment is effective from 13th July.

An announcement regarding the appointment of the new head of Global Supply will be announced separately.
