BTTB Travel Management Awards finalists named

27 Apr 2011

Nufarm, Suncorp and WorleyParsons have been named as finalists for the 2011 Travel Programme of the Year award at the BTTB Travel Management Awards.

The buyer award recognises achievement in travel management, with an emphasis on cost control, compliance, traveller satisfaction and contribution to the corporate bottom-line.

All three finalists have demonstrated innovation and strategic thinking in their programmes which have also won the approval of internal and external stakeholders, and have won praise from the judging panel. Panel chairman Allan Leibowitz says not only did his fellow judges, past winner Damon Rapke for Pacific Brands, former university travel manager and now procurement consultant Bill Aucket and former TMC and GDS executive and now consultant Kurt Knackstedt, have a tough time choosing the winner, it was just as had to whittle the nominees down to just three finalists.
“The caliber of entry was very high, and the recent tough times have certainly sharpened travel programmes,” he says. “But what clear is that it’s not just about cutting costs – it’s about ensuring that all the boxes are ticked,” he notes.

The winner will be announced at the Awards Dinner on May 4th, where a number of vendors, nominated by their customers, will also be recognised.
