CCC investigating claims of procurement fraud

The Western Australian Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) is investigating allegations of procurement misconduct at the Town of Port Headland. 

The commission's acting director of corruption prevention, Tony Warwick, said allegations of misconduct had been received in regard to the council's handling of planning processes for a temporary workers’ camp to be set up next to the port Headland international airport.

A former council economic development and strategic planning manager claimed in a resignation letter obtained by The West Australian she was under pressure to bypass council procurement processes in handling the application.
