New CIPSA regional Chairs' first meeting

All of the CIPSA regional committee Chairs gathered today for the first time since last month’s new appointments. 


Ahead of the 5th CIPSA Annual Conference, which begins tomorrow at Crown Palladium in Melbourne, Chairs will share experiences and successes from the range of regional committee events organised throughout the year and to plan ahead for 2010.

The meeting provides an opportunity to welcome the three Chairs who are new to their roles this month; Peter Morichovitis MCIPS in South Australia, David Callaghan in New South Wales and Chris Morgan in Auckland.

CIPSA Managing Director Jonathan Dutton says the regional Chairs, along with their Vice Chairs and committee members, play a vital role in strengthening the profession throughout Australasia.

“The networking opportunities created by regional committees through the events they organise allow procurement people to share best practice, establish relationships with local colleagues and promote the profession.”

Tonight the group will meet CIPS President Dr Bola Afolabi and CIPS Chief Executive David Noble at the pre-conference dinner together with the CIPSA Steering Group and CIPSA Fellows.
