Supply chain woes cause massive Chrysler recall

Chrysler announced on Monday that it is voluntarily recalling more than 683,000 vehicles worldwide because of faulty brake lines and sliding power doors.

Vehicles involved include 364,732 of its 2007 through 2010 Jeep Wrangler and 318,974 of its 2008 and 2009 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.

The latest recall further demonstrates how automakers risk customer and reputational damage with a lack of oversight across their supply chain.
