CILTA T&L industry excellence awards

On Friday 23rd October the transport and logistics industry gathered to celebrate and acknowledge the outstanding efforts and achievements of their colleagues in the field of logistics and transport for Australia.
 
Newcastle (Northern New South Wales Section) was the host for the evening. Over thirty different businesses and individuals from across Australia went before the judging panel to determine the 2009 National Excellence Awards in six different categories.
 
The 2009 CILTA Transport and Logistics Industry Excellence Award winners were:
 
Excellence in Safety Award
Winner: Leighton Contractors, Infrastructure Services (QLD)
 
BlueScope Steel (NSW) “No Dogs” Project and Department of Transport and Main Roads (QLD) “Road Safety” received a High Commendation each.
 
Excellence in People Development Award
Winner: The Royal Australian Navy Supply Community (ACT).
 
Excellence in Technology Application/Innovation Award
Winner: Transperth – WA Public Transport Authority’s Metropolitan Public Transport System – Implementation of “Smart Rider” (WA)
