CIPS Australasia (CIPSA) applications for Regional Chairs & Vice-Chairs close this Friday, 26th August, 5pm (AEST).

CIPSA is seeking voluntary regional Chairs & Vice-Chairs (VCs) for its seven regions in NSW, VIC [& TAS], QLD, WA, SA [& NT], ACT and NZ [AKLD/ CHCH/ WELL] to serve from 1st October 2011 through to at least 30th September 2013.

The closing date for applications is COB Friday 26th August 2011 (AEST). The selection process shall be completed in good time to make appointments by the end of September 2011.

Regional Chairs will lead local efforts to support CIPS Australasia in building local procurement communities, and helping individuals to improve their professional knowledge and skills in procurement, specifically in each region.

Although unpaid volunteer roles, regional Chairs & VCs will benefit from:
• Prestige of their role in the foremost global professional procurement organisation
• Exposure to the higher echelons of the profession in Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific, including the CIPSA Steering Group
• Attending events on behalf of CIPSA
• Speaking opportunities and representation of CIPSA, both regionally and nationally
• Greater exposure to the CIPS learning and development agenda and subject matter
• Proactive support from the CIPSA executive team in Melbourne
• Other opportunities to support both CIPSA and the procurement profession
• Reimbursement of reasonable travel costs and out-of-pocket expenses
• Helping the profession and supporting the Institute

Successful candidates will be requested to Chair monthly regional meetings, attend a modest number of events, review the base business plan for the region, meet with other regional Chairs every six months and present once to the CIPS Australasia Steering Group.
