Stephen Rowe elected to Rest of the World seat on CIPS council

24 Jun 2009

Stephen Rowe FCIPS, CPO at Parmalat Australia, has been elected to the Rest of The World seat on the CIPS council. Stephen begins his three-year term on 1 November 2009.

The CIPS council, which meets three times a year, is the organisation’s senior governing body.

A two-time recipient of CIPS best practice awards (in Australia and the UK), Stephen’s worldwide experience, global networks and commitment to procurement excellence will enable him to represent the ‘Rest of the World’ perspective on the 21-seat council.

A CIPS member since 1997, Stephen has long been a passionate advocate of the procurement profession.  He was one of the first Australian recipients of FCIPS.

Managing Director of CIPS Australia Jonathan Dutton says Stephen is highly regarded as a thought and practice leader within procurement and supply chain management, and in the wider business world.

“I’m delighted to see Stephen in the Rest of the World seat on the CIPS council.  His experience, network and enthusiasm for developing the profession will be real assets for the council, and for the international CIPS community.”

Stephen takes over from David Freeman FCIPS, Senior Category Manager at Westpac New Zealand Ltd, who was elected to the council in 2006.  David is also the CIPS New Zealand Regional Chair.
