7th CIPSA Annual Conference a great success

17 Oct 2011

The 7th CIPSA Annual Conference, ran in Melbourne on 12th and 13th October, proved to be a great success, with over 95% of delegates rating the event as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’; an exceptional approval rating.

Around 840 people attended the event, held at Melbourne’s Crown Conference Centre. Delegates were treated to 12 plenary speakers, 25 seminars, 75 exhibitors and 6 pre-conference workshops. In addition to this, over 500 people attended the 5th Annual Procurement Professional Awards Dinner.

“CIPS Australasia is extremely pleased with how the event ran and the exceptionally high approval rating demonstrates this,” CIPSA Managing Director, Jonathan Dutton FCIPS, said.

“The theme of the event, ‘Risky Business’, served as a reminder to all procurement professionals of the volatile environment, post global financial crisis, facing modern-day companies,” he said.

“The plenary sessions at this year’s conference addressed the strategic professional agenda for procurement whilst simultaneously providing delegates with practical deliverables and learning points for them to take away and hopefully, implement into their day-to-day positions,” he said.

Winners of this year’s Procurement Professional Awards were presented with a trophy and certificate on stage at the Crown Palladium on the Wednesday night and are, along with all finalists, to be congratulated for their ongoing contributions to the procurement profession.
