The December issue of Procurement Professional is out now, featuring highlights of the 7th CIPSA annual conference. The 800-delegate gathering was themed “Risky Business” and looked at the volatility in the wake of recent global economic shifts. There were a range of messages over the two days, but one of the strongest themes was the need for procurement to grab the opportunities that have emerged and to really make a difference.

The special report this month looks at contingent labour, a growing staffing option that sits in procurement rather than HR. The report was inspired by a recent CIPSA Special Category Forum, one of the best-attended of the year. It includes input from some of the speakers on the day, but also draws on broader industry knowledge to augment the insights.

There’s also an expanded CIPSA News section this month, much of it dealing with the changes currently being finalised in the UK.
