UGL-Kaefer JV wins $500m contract with Esso

Engineering firm UGL Ltds 50-50 joint venture with German insulation company Kaefer has won a $500 million contract with Esso Australia. The seven-year contract is for services including procurement and planning and was described as a ‘very significant win’ by UGL managing director and chief executive Richard Leupen in a statement on Thursday.  The contract extends the company’s position as the leading oil and gas maintenance services provider in Australia and puts UGL in a strong position to capitalise on future oil and gas maintenance projects according to Mr Leupen.
