New export guidelines to ensure supply chain assurances

New guidelines will see the onus placed on Australian exporters to demonstrate that they can meet ‘supply chain assurances’, as the Federal Government lifts the ban in live cattle exports to Indonesia.

Senator Ludwig says exporters will only be issued with a permit to export when they prove that they can meet the new conditions.

Those requirements are traceability from paddock to abattoir, transparency of the supply chain and independent auditing of the supply chain.
