First to complete PAS on way to MCIPS accreditation03 Mar 2011Ben Moore has completed the Professional Assessment Scheme (PAS) pathway to MCIPS, the internationally recognised standard of professional competency in procurement. Ben completed the PAS in only 12 months, with the program usually taking candidates up to 18 months or more to complete. The PAS is an alternative route to MCIPS and provides an opportunity for experienced practitioners to undergo a less academic form of assessment which, upon successful completion will ultimately lead to achieving full membership (MCIPS). There are no formal examinations; instead assessment is based on candidates demonstrating rigorous practical procurement experience and theoretical knowledge and understanding. All routes to MCIPS are equally robust and the MCIPS standard remains consistent, but PAS is designed to enable middle managers to link their day to day practitioner activities and experience to current and emerging theory. It provides a way experienced procurement managers can demonstrate their knowledge without having to re-learn it. |
