Acquisition creates pan-European energy procurement giant

A UK energy consultancy and a UK procurement specialist have merged to create a pan-European buying giant.

In a deal announced today, John Hall Associates (JHA), which has been sourcing and delivering energy contracts to buyers across Europe for more than 35 years, has been acquired by EnergyQuote.

The combined company, which will operate under the EnergyQuote brand, is one of the largest in Europe. It employs more than 200 energy experts and provides services covering all aspects of procurement - including risk management, contract management, research and analysis - to more than 800 customers.

Gary Worby, managing director of EnergyQuote, said JHA's people, expertise and relationships in Europe and North America were "an important addition" to EnergyQuote's business portfolio.

"The company brings us a broad range of advanced products and technologies, as well as a management team and employees with a deep customer understanding," he said.

EnergyQuote has offices in the UK, Italy, Belgium, Romania and India. Worby added he expected the joining of the two firms to "strengthen our market position globally and drive further growth for EnergyQuote going forward".
