Aussie ICT firms urges to focus on global opp.

Media Australian ICT firms should take advantage of major trade events like CeBIT Australia and continue to pursue international business opportunities to weather the global economic downturn, according to Austrade.

Speaking ahead of CeBIT, the region’s largest industry event, Austrade’s National Industry Manager for ICT, Peter Harrison said the economic stimulus packages introduced by Governments around the world will continue to create opportunities for Australian ICT firms. “Australian ICT firms should not lose sight of the medium to long-term prospects of international trade,” Mr Harrison said. “ICT remains indispensable with global economies wanting to increase productivity and competitiveness".

Austrade will boost international business opportunities for Australian ICT firms by bringing international buyers to CeBIT in Sydney next week (12-18 May). Last year, CeBIT Australia attracted over 700 local and international exhibitors and 30,000 business visitors.
