IPCC report confirms climate change impact on procurement

Extreme weather poses increasing threats to supply chains and the people in procurement position who manage them, a new finding from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), has revealed in a recent report.

The IPCC, which was established by the United Nations, said potential problems with supply chain security are low down the agenda of FTSE100 firms, according to a recent report from CIPS (UK).

"The IPCC report underscores the ripples climate change is already having on the global economy and the importance of innovative business solutions and aggressive government policies to manage this escalating threat," Ceres president Mindy Lubber said.
