Our client is a leading global company, producing significant quantities of essential resources - zinc and lead as well as other materials such as silver, gold, and copper.

 

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Regional Purchasing Manager to drive a professional procurement approach for the Company’s Australasian assets.

 

The position will be responsible for delivering regional purchasing synergies and contracts, including driving regional frame agreements, implementing cross-border and cross-functional synergies, rationalising inventories and participating in global strategy development.

 

Reporting to the Group Manager Purchasing and a member of the Group Purchasing Management Team, this position will work in cooperation with site purchasing teams for which it is functionally responsible and coach site purchasing managers.

 

To be considered for this position you will be tertiary qualified, with extensive experience in a relevant industry. You will come from a senior purchasing role with an excellent understanding of best practise in procurement and contract management.

 

Commercially focused, the position requires strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build long term relationships.
 
The role will be based in Hobart with frequent interstate travel and some international travel a feature.
