Kimberly-Clark (KC) has disclosed that the creation of a global procurement structure and a continuing programme of supply chain optimisation are key elements in its long-term objectives.

The comments came as the firm updated its long-range Global Business Plan (which defines strategy to 2015), calling for top- and bottom-line growth, increased marketing spending, "robust" ongoing cost savings, and additional improvements in working capital and overall return on invested capital.

The announcements were made in connection with the company's recent Investor Day meeting where KC's chief strategy officer Chris Brickman reviewed the company's progress in 2009 to improve organisational efficiency, generate cost savings and reduce working capital.
