Previous CIPSA LEADERSHIP AWARD winners are
2005 – Bill Aukett, former President of AIPMM for leading the transition towards CIPS, his work at HES and the University of Adelaide. 2006 – Phil Weir, Senior Procurement Advisor in New Zealand Government, for leading a procurement capability improvement strategy throughout the NZ public sector culminating in the government procurement reform programme 2007 - John Tondut, Executive Director at DTF in Western Australia for his procurement leadership at DTF, and at the APCC Skills Development Group and for forging a unique arrangement with Curtin Business School to create the primary set of university courses in Procurement in Australia. 2008 – Rio Tinto Procurement – for their leadership in embracing global e learning strategies to develop the capability of their worldwide team to global standards of excellence, sharing that work freely with others and for subsequently establishing Procurement as a CORE business process within Rio Tinto: The award was received by General Manager Peter McNamara. 2009 – The Central Supply & Tenders Board [CSTB] in Papua New Guinea for the development and delivery of a substantial assessed Level 3training programme for 120 public procurement officers. The leadership provided by this group benefited not only their own function, but directly impacts the health and sustainability of Papua New Guinea as a viable nation state. The award was received by CSTB Chairman, Brian kimmins and his team. 2010 – Kevin McCafferty for his work at NSW Railcorp leading their procurement transformation programme out of the shadows of the ICAC hearings, through their investigations and implementing a new world class procurement process delivering real business results for Railcorp and at the vanguard of restoring the organisation’s reputation. Kevin was appointed CPO at Qantas shortly before receiving the CIPSA Leadership Award.
