CIPS accreditation valued by NZ university28 Jul 2009New Zealand’s Lincoln University is proud to be the country’s first university with a CIPS accreditation.
Lincoln University’s Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Supply Chain Management is a comprehensive undergraduate programme capable of producing work-ready graduates with a sound foundation in the core areas of procurement, sourcing, logistics and supply chain management. It is taught through the University’s Faculty of Commerce. Modern supply chain management focuses on coordinating and controlling the entire chain from the raw materials to the finished product, and also the post-life of the product, in an environmentally sustainable way. Lincoln University graduates enter the employment market with an understanding of the necessary components of a fully coordinated product/market system that is efficient, sustainable and provides optimal returns to the stakeholders. Courses in the programme address key elements of managing and coordinating the supply chain and include a comprehensive study of modern procurement principles and practices, inventory management, transportation and logistics, operational planning and control systems, quality systems, marketing and customer relationship management, and the re-cycling and disposal of materials and products. The Lincoln University programme is unique in New Zealand as it is a commercially focused, full undergraduate-level degree covering the key discipline areas related to procurement, sourcing, materials management, operations management and logistics, all taught within an overall supply chain management principle. |
