Australian project and construction company, Manteena, has been awarded an $18 million project in the ACT to oversee the procurement of resources, assets and contracting tradespeople to work on the territory’s health centre project.

ACT  Minister for Health, Katy Gallagher said the centre will be an “innovative new building constructed adjacent to the existing Child and Family Centre”.

“It will focus on the specific health needs of the Gungahlin community and surrounding areas,” she said.

“These health centres are an integral part of the ACT Health Capital Asset Development Program which will ensure that high standards of health and health care services in the ACT continue into the future,” the Minister said.

ACT Health will also be tendering two other health centres in Belconnen and Tuggeranong.

An ACT health spokesperson said additional goods, services and works will be procured in accordance with the ACT Government’s requirements with the “objective of achieving best value for money”.

The spokesperson said Manteena went up against seven other firms, during the tender process.
