Governance and Risk Management in Asia - Melbourne University

Melbourne University is holding a 2-day programme, ‘Governance and Risk Management in Asia’, to be held on 12-13 April 2011 at its Parkville Campus.

There is a 10% disocunt for CIPS Members who wish to undertake this programme.

This programme combines academic insight with extensive practical business experience into corporate governance, leadership and risk management, with an emphasis on Asia.

The course examines how leadership and governance can impact risk management strategies. A key focus of the course is the importance of cultural intelligence in developing business leaders who are adept at navigating the complex personal, institutional, political, social and economic environments in Asia.

At the end of the course, participants should:
• Gain insights into how Asian businesses view risk and compliance when doing business in the West.
• Demonstrate greater cultural intelligence when doing business in Asia.
• Acquire skills in building cross-cultural competence.
• Understand how leadership styles influence risk management in Asia.
• Learn about the risks of operating in Asia and develop strategies to manage those risks.
• How corporate and public governance unfolds in Asia and impact on management decisions from local and international companies.
