Australian government extends national food supply submissions deadline

Australians interested in adding to the debate about how to best secure the nation's food supply now have an extra month to get their opinions heard.

The federal government has extended the deadline for submissions into its national food plan to September 2.
It follows numerous requests for an extension and will ensure all sections of the community have their say, Agriculture Minister Joe Ludwig said.

"We want to hear from our nation's farmers, food production and service industries, transport and logistics companies, retailers, consumers, researchers, health providers and community groups, among others," he said in a statement.
