New Chair and Vice-Chair for WA Committee11 Jan 2011CIPS Australia’s WA Committee new Chair Andrew Blitz and Vice-Chair Siobhan Kastan. Andrew Blitz, previous Vice Chair of the WA Committee, has stepped into the role of Chair following Tony Davey’s resignation. Andrew is the Business Development Manager of the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) and oversees a centralised procurement program for 139 Local Governments throughout the State. In addition to obtaining MCIPS through the PDP pathway, Andrew is a certified trainer and has completed an MBA, BBus and AICD Company Directors course. In guiding the WA Committee Andrew aims to focus on building the professional procurement community across a wide range of industry sectors, create business networking opportunities, and facilitate events that reinvest the knowledge and success of WA projects particularly in the areas of supply chain efficiency, infrastructure development, sourcing innovation, and supplier relationships. Tony Davey, Manager Strategic Sourcing - Services at Rio Tinto has Chaired the WA Committee for the past three years, and will reluctantly step aside due to work commitments. Under Tony’s leadership the Committee has enhanced its event plan, introduced new initiatives such as procurement leader visits, and developed activity that highlights the unique procurement needs of a vast and isolated state powered by a resources based economy. Tony would like to “thank the Committee members who gave their time freely to help build the profession, and also to the CIPSA members and sponsors who have supported and helped develop the WA procurement community”. Siobhan Kastan has been appointed as Vice-Chair for WA. Siobhan has over 8 years Procurement experience in a broad range of industries including manufacturing, retail, banking and mining. Her current role is Procurement Compliance Manager for Fortescue Metals Group responsible for governance, process, policies, reporting and local & aboriginal procurement led initiatives. Previous roles have included Purchasing Manager for Varian Australia, Print Vendor Manager for Coles Group, Strategic Sourcing Lead for Bankwest and Executive Manager for Integration at Commonwealth Bank. |
