Express delivery and logistics company DHL and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have set up a Sustainable Supply Chain Centre. The S$3 million centre based in Singapore will help companies in the sector make more efficient use of resources. With strong growth projected for the Asian logistics industry, DHL said having sustainable solutions would give companies an edge.

Singapore's Economic Development Board has stated it will look at increasing the awareness on best practices among logistics players. Kelvin Wong, director of Logistics & Urban Solutions, Economic Development Board said: "A lot of sustainable supply chains are really an unknown today. Most companies are really trying to figure out what they should be doing. This centre is about bringing together that group of ideas, that knowledge and putting up a more systematic and structured way to help companies think about sustainability." EDB said the tools developed by the new centre in Singapore will help companies throughout the region execute more efficient supply chain solutions.
