The President of Nigeria has been called upon to urgently constitute and inaugurate the National Council on Public Procurement, to institutionalise the process as a measure to check official corruption in the country. The call was echoed by the Secretary General of Nigeria Network of NGOs and a member of the Public Procurement Monitoring, Observation & Evaluation Group, Barrister Ayo Adebusoye, who backed calls by Civil Society on the President to immediately constitute the Council in compliance with Sections 1 & 2 of the Public Procurement Act 2007.
