Mass supply chain disruptions caused by NT cyclonic weather

Efforts are continuing in the Northern Territory to ameliorate supply chain disruption, particularly for freight companies, in the wake of cyclonic weather and infrastructure damage.

Transport and logistics company Northline was forced to send vehicles from Darwin to Katherine to collect freight stranded by rail disruption following floods and a derailment cutting the rail link at Edith River.

That link is not expected to be repaired until the end of the month and Northline has applied a temporary 19 per cent cost recovery surcharge to cover initial procurement of goods.
