New Zealand PC procurement panel appoints providers

New Zealand’s all-of-government desktop and laptop procurement panel have appointed Acer, HP, Lenovo, the Laptop Company, Cyclone and Gen-I as providers. After being appointed as providers on the panel, these companies are set to supply PCs to 200 government departments.

Within the last four year's program by Ministry of Economic Development, this is the first contract which has been awarded. The Department of Internal Affairs will administer and supervise the contract. The Ministry of Economic Development is in process of refining the procurement of various products for the government.  Economic Development Minister, Mr. Gerry Brownlee said that over five years, the contracts will save more that $35 million. They will make the process easier for the companies, who wishes to do business with the government and will also deliver best quality of service to government.
