CIPSA holds first regional event in PNG

On the 15th of March, the first CIPSA event in Papua New Guinea took place at the Lamana Hotel in Port Moresby.

Around 30 procurement professionals from both private and public organisations attended to network and get to know each other, as well as enjoying a few drinks and some something to eat.

Guest speaker was Charles Vee, who is an experienced architect and project manager. He gave a presentation on contracting issues in Papua New Guinea, which was very well received by the attendees.

Following this, Rene Kling, who is conducting training on behalf of CIPSA to the PNG government, gave a short overview of CIPSA in relation to membership and qualifications. The evening was enjoyed by all, and the general view was that this event should be repeated on a regular basis, and that the establishment of a PNG CIPSA branch is hopefully not too far away!
