PNG reform update for CIPS President

13 Oct 2009

A delegation from the Central Supply and Tenders Board (CS&TB) of the Papua New Guinea government met today with CIPS President Dr Bola Afolabi FCIPS to update him on their ongoing reform; building capacity and capability in public sector procurement.

In Melbourne for the 5th CIPSA Annual Conference, they share an interest in managing procurement challenges faced in developing countries.  The Papua New Guinea CS&TB group hopes to benefit from Dr Afolabi’s extensive experience of working in supply chain in Africa.

Dr Afolabi works for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Africa's oil and gas corporation, as General Manager and Project Director leading the implementation of SAP business solution across its dozen subsidiaries. Previously, he spent more than two decades with Shell International.

The 5th CIPSA Annual Conference, taking place this week at Crown Palladium, will provide many such opportunities for procurement professionals from across the region to learn from other practitioners’ and organisations’ experience.
