Entering Procurement Professional Awards good for business

28 Jul 2009

Procurement may be the fastest-growing profession in business but individual practitioners rarely promote their hard-earned achievements or accept due recognition.  The CIPS Australasia Procurement Professional Awards 2009 are a step towards correcting that.

Now in their third year, the Procurement Professional Awards have quickly become established as a prestigious standard of recognition.  You may already be working on your submission but if not, there’s still time to enter before the August 14 closing date and your organisation has a lot to gain from doing so.

Managing Director of CIPS Australia Jonathan Dutton describes the awards programme as a new, modern way to demonstrate best practice for everyone’s benefit.

“It highlights the varied contribution out profession is making to organisations throughout the private and public sectors.  This recognition is not only beneficial for individuals’ confidence and career progression, but also for organisations and stakeholders as they realise the benefits of their investment in professional procurement.”

Entering the Procurement Professional Awards affords your organisation an opportunity to develop staff morale by demonstrating your willingness to celebrate success, build on business relationships and grow brand recognition within the profession.

Winners additionally receive coverage in Procurement Professional magazine and on the CIPS Australia website, a trophy and framed certificate, the right to use the Category Winner logo in your business communications until September 2010 and recognition as a rewarding and attractive employer.

The Procurement Professional Awards dinner will be held on October 14 in Melbourne as part of the CIPSA Annual Conference.

This year’s categories include:

• Best example of socially responsible procurement
• Best cross-functional teamwork project
• Best people development initiative
• Best process improvement initiative
• Best supplier partnership
• Most improved procurement operation
• Young procurement professional of the year
• Best infrastructure and capital works project
• The CIPS Leadership Award
