CIPSA networking event brings QLD procurement community together

11 Aug 2009

Procurement people at all levels of the profession came together in Brisbane on August 5 at the successful CIPS Australia information and networking evening hosted by the CIPSA Queensland regional committee.

The evening provided an opportunity for procurement professionals to network over drinks and nibbles, find out about what CIPSA has to offer and understand the different routes available to achieve MCIPS.

Feedback from those who attended has been very positive according to Queensland regional vice chair Alan Robertson MCIPS.  Committee members were available during the evening to meet potential members and discuss the committee’s activities in the region.

CIPSA education manager Angelina Pillai, who spoke about CIPS membership and professional development options, says the event served as a platform synergize the procurement community in the region.

“This forum provided an excellent opportunity for non members and new entrant into the profession to network with members and leaders in the procurement and supply chain field.   It was also successful in raising the awareness of the profession - and the Institute.

“People went away aware of the options for individuals and organisations wanting to further their professional procurement capability.”

Angelina Pillai’s presentation from the evening is available on the CIPSA website here.
