Queensland’s Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) will officially launch its 2011 Supply Chain & Logistics Awards on 25th May, which will be presented at the QSCLAA Conference in August.

The QLD SCL Awards is the Queensland feeder program for the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards which will be held on the 11th of November at the Burswood Entertainment Complex, Perth, Western Australia.

The Queensland Supply Chain & Logistics Awards are held in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Strategix Training Group, the Transport and Logistics Workforce Advisory Group and apics.

Keynote speaker at the breakfast launch, Jennifer Goddard, will share her experience of running a large competitive event in China in October last year.

The event comprised ten intensive competitions over three days with 125 competitors from 15 countries and $250,000 prize money- all broadcast live on TV to over 300 million people.

To complicate things further, contestants hadn’t even met their team before the day and many didn’t speak English.

With very tight timeframes, Goddard and the team marked over 450,000 items – and those were just the ones the competitors got right.

In all over 1,000,000 individual pieces of data were reviewed over the three days.

In addition past Queensland SCL Awardees will discuss what they have gained from the awards programme personally and professionally.

Panelists include Newmont Mining Corporation’s Cassandra Parisotto, ProcureNet’s John Edwards and Bree Pitcher from Tarong Energy Corporation.

To reserve your seat or a corporate table, simply call the SCLAA National Office on 1300 364 160 or email secretary@sclaa.com.au for a booking form.
