What does the oil and gas LNG investment mean for the Darling Downs region?

How can procurement professionals in the region leverage this through implementing local procurement strategies?

LNG Investment will run into $ billions and much of this investment will be between the Darling Downs and Gladstone. What does this mean for Procurement Professionals and for the local area? Will there be an explosion of wealth? Will it mean more jobs? Do we have the skills required to take advantage?

The CIPS Australia Queensland Region Committee warmly invites you to our next event to hear from one of the leading CSG to LNG procurement practitioners. Nick Binks is a procurement professional with 24 years experience in Oil and Gas. Whilst there are no definitive answers to the questions surrounding this topic, our guest speaker will share some of his thoughts on what local procurement strategies could mean for the region (Toowoomba, Miles, Dolby, Chinchilla and others).

This is an also a great opportunity to meet your procurement peers and to ask the Queensland CIPSA Committee members any questions that you may have.

Speaker
Nick Binks is currently the Manager – Contracts for APLNG (a joint venture between Origin and ConocoPhillips). Previous to this he held senior procurement positions within several other leading Oil and Gas companies.

Nick will be speaking in his personal capacity and his views will be his own and should not be construed as representing the views of Origin Energy or ConocoPhillips and its APLNG joint venture.
