Rheem supply chain success in the spotlight

Rheem Australia was given a boost when the publishers of the innovative series of magazines, 'Australia's Best' included a special focus on the company's supply chain management strategies. Rheem acknowledges the essential ingredients in its success were strong ties and open communication channels with its suppliers.

Interest in supply chain management officially sparked during the 1980s, and steadily increased as firms cottoned on to the benefits of collaborative relationships within and beyond their own organisation. Although Rheem Australia is as extension of an international brand, its local operations act autonomously in its selection of suppliers. Recognising it could compete more effectively, it has worked to establish an invaluable stable of suppliers and other entities in its supply chain.

Rheem has four production sites across Australia, with these locations in NSW, WA and Victoria providing for all the Rheem brands. In Sydney alone, Rheem's largest manufacturing base, it has just fewer than 100 suppliers.
