Rudd responds to Chinese labels of protectionism

Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd has responded to Chinese criticism that the Australian Government failed to reduce protectionism and ease infrastructure bottlenecks.

The comments followed the outcry in recent weeks over Chinese mining companies buying 43 farms near Gunnedah, NSW, and a major sugar mill in Queensland, and calls for tighter curbs on foreign investment.
