New Interim Chair for CIPSA SA Committee

Former CIPSA Steering Group Chair, Bill Aukett, is to become Interim Chair for the SA region with immediate effect.

After several years of tireless support both the SA Regional Chair, Nick Ford [at BAE Systems], and vice-chair, Keith Barber [at Salisbury Council], have recently stood down from their posts. This has left two vacancies for the SA region. However, with the biennial formal selection process for new Chairs & Vice-Chairs in all regions set for August-Sept 2009; "it was decided an interim Chair was needed for SA immediately to sit until the selection process is complete", stated CIPSA Managing Director, Jonathan Dutton.

Bill Aukett has agreed to act until a new SA Chair is appointed in September 2009, and will Chair the next meeting of the SA committee.

Bill is head of procurement at the University of Adelaide and is also a former president of AIPMM – the predecessor organisation to CIPSA. Bill's vast experience of committee work includes past HES and ABTA commitments. He is also a past CIPS Leadership Award winner and one of the 2009 CIPSA Procurement Professional Awards judges for the third consecutive year.
