Supply chain 'critical' for Australian food industry

The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) has welcomed  Australia’s National Food Plan policy working group’s issue paper that has identified that infrastructure and logistics supply chains are ‘critical’ for the food industry.

ALC CEO Michael Kilgariff said the Government’s decision in 2010 to appoint Linfox CEO Michael Byrne to the Working Group has brought the views of the freight transport and logistics industry to the table.

“This has helped to highlight how the sector supports a productive and efficient food supply chain,” Kilgariff said.

“ALC agrees with the proposition in the issues paper that infrastructure and logistics supply chains are critical for the food industry,” he said.
