Australian manufacturers express concern about skills shortages

Australian Industry Group members have expressed ‘deep concern’ of the shortage of skilled workers for Australian manufacturers.

Lee-Anne fisher of the Australian Industry Group claims that skills shortages are a major reason why productivity is slowing.

"Many company bosses say, that in as little as five years, the lack of skilled people will be a factor in preventing further productivity gains," Fisher said.
