Small businesses to be spared under carbon tax

Prime Minister Julia Gillard has promised that small businesses would be spared a carbon tax on their fuel, however the Federal Government has failed to reveal how the tax would affect heavy transport operators.

The proposed carbon tax will be outlined in greater detail this Sunday where the Government will unveil its policy. 

The Government will legislate to put a price on carbon by September after Cabinet recently approved the carbon tax package for release.
