South African public sector corruption revealed

A recent study has revealed that South African public sector buyers have been receiving kickbacks in exchange for rigging tenders, highlighting the levels of corruption.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) study found 720 cases of “procurement irregularities” in two public bodies, nine national departments and three provincial governments, selected at random for scrutiny.
