The First Three CIPSA Special Interest Forums a big hit

18 Aug 2010

In late July and early August CIPSA Conferences staged the first three Special Interest Forums, with delgates rating them some of the best conferences yet produced.

As those who have attended CIPSA Conferences would know, delegates are provided with an evaluation form to mark the overall conference and the individual speakers. The first question on the evaluation form asks delegates what was their "Overall impression of the conference"? The response options are excellent, good, average and poor. The Special Interest Forums attracted the following marks:

Low Cost Country Sourcing

Excellent = 47%
Good = 45%
Average = 8%
Poor = 0%

Outsourcing Procurement

Excellent = 41%
Good = 59%
Average = 0%
Poor = 0%

Sustainable Procurement in Action

Excellent = 30%
Good = 63%
Average = 7%
Poor = 0%

Commenting the marks, Nigel Wardropper, Event Director for CIPSA Conferences since inception in 2005, noted that "these marks, particularly the high level of excellent scores, are probably the best we have ever received for one-day forums. I suspect the reason for the good marks is that although the attendances were relatively small in comparison with some of our other events, the targetted nature of the content and the high calibre of speakers meant that delegates found the days extremely worthwhile."

Further Special Interest Forums are scheduled for November 2010 in Sydney and Auckland on "Use of Technology in Procurement" and work is currently under way to finalise the full schedule for 2011.
