The Hon Lindsay Tanner confirmed to open The 5th CIPSA Public Sector Procurement Forum03 Feb 2010CIPSA Conferences are delighted to confirm that Minister for Finance and Deregulation, The Hon Lindsay Tanner, will provide the opening keynote address at the 5th CIPSA Public Sector Procurement Forum on 27th May in Canberra. Last year’s speech by the Minister at the 4th Public Sector Procurement Forum attracted widespread coverage in the mainstream media, as he urged against protectionism as a solution to the GFC. This was in contrast to the message being delivered at the time by the NSW Government, who were looking to such measures to safeguard jobs in their State. In an election year, it will be interesting to hear what message the Minister has for public sector procurement professionals and where the government focus lies. Having been staged in Sydney last year, the Public Sector Procurement Forum returns to it’s spiritual home in Canberra in 2010. The conference will feature a single plenary stream of strategic sessions on day one (27th May) with day two (28th May) featuring two streams of practical workshop type sessions. Full details of the programme will be published in the next few weeks at www.cipsaconferences.com.au |
