Toyota strikes to heavily affect Australian arm of supply chain

Strikes by Toyota factory workers in Melbourne and Sydney last week cost the company $10 million a day in lost vehicle sales, with affects being felt all the way through the Australian automotive supply chain.

The strikes occurred at the Toyota Altona plant and Sydney and Melbourne parts warehouses over five days. 

Toyota also estimates 3300 employees at Toyota's suppliers will be stood down this week over the pay dispute.
